I've had quite an amazing life & there's little I haven't seen/experienced. I specialize in existential (meaning of life) issues, as well as addictions, loss, grief, depression, personal identity, sexual & gender issues, relationships, etc.
I also enjoy writing, e.g., "Webcam Magic," a kindle book. I'm currently working on a book on transpersonal hypnosis.
I continually strive to be a better person; I like the saying 'You do just as much damage in the world when you take offense as when you give it.' But I try not to take myself too seriously.
I've worked in a wide array of fields from hospice to hospitality, from business to social services. Throughout my career I've specialized in turning failing businesses/ organizations around, understand how ethical & empathetic human relations affect the bottom line and vice-versa. In a nutshell, I enjoy contributing to others' happiness & well-being.
I study the Tarot for fun and enlightenment. I'm a Taoist and an animal lover, and have rehabilitated & released or adopted injured animals. I have an abiding interest in human change mechanisms- individual, cultural, political. I'm particularly interested in how people can shed their habitual ways of being and renew themselves.

I bought this for an elderly relative with dementia, who we discovered, to our horror, was drinking regular mouthwash. That resulted in blindness and may even be responsible for the dementia (it doesn't run in the family). Long story, but she became agoraphobic, and no-one would bring her alcohol, but no-one thought twice about buying her mouthwash, until we realized she was asking everyone to buy it and was going through prodigious amounts of it. She needs mouthwash, it's a battle to get her to brush her teeth. She loves it, surreptitiously sips it. I looked high and low for a mouthwash that was alcohol-free, non-toxic and might even have beneficial effects if ingested. Not… Read more

Personally, I found few of the stories inspiring. I've given it some thought, and there were two main reasons: one: no surprise, no suspense, stories poorly told. The authors summarize what happens to everyone numerous times before you ever get to their actual stories. Then, when you do get to the actual story, they sum it up AGAIN before they even tell the story. A good editor should have reorganized this. By the time you finally get to a story, you already know the outcome, and the details are anti-climactic. Second problem- the authors say that anyone can achieve these fantastic results. And, relatedly, I WAS inspired by the stories of those who were just regular folks,… Read more

What a nice surprise. This book has themes I've so loved elsewhere- a chance to live a different life, alternate realities, destiny, etc., but done with the author's scrupulous and yet seemingly effortless attention to detail. The pace is brisk, you're along for the ride as Jen finds herself inexplicably thrust into a new life/reality, and like a detective must figure out what's going on. A page-turner- kept me guessing right through to the end. But most importantly, I came to care about the characters and what would happen to them, especially the main character, alive with the author's personhood. As another reviewer mentioned, the sci-fi aspects are actually relatively… Read more
