Scoring Rubrics in the Classroom: Using Performanc&hellip by Judith A. Arter
4.0 out of 5 stars Thought-Provoking!, September 23, 2011
I appreciated the specificity of this book. I found much to think about regarding the principles and applications discussed.

I like to think of myself as an expert in assessment, but I believe that my ability to effectively use rubrics to guide student learning and to assess student learning and my teaching have improved because I read this book.
Learn Spanish DVD: Level 3 <b>DVD</b> ~ Various

5.0 out of 5 stars Verb Drill and Practice, February 20, 2011
Like the other DVDs in this series, Level 3 looks like a voice-PowerPoint similar to what a professor uses in a college Spanish 1 class. Level 3 teaches verbs and conjugation.

Level 3 reinforces midsemester work in a 16-week, Spanish I, college course. The many important irregular verbs, plus past and future tenses, and sentence/question construction, however, means this DVD includes more advanced information too.

An opportunity for memorization, drill, and practice is provided in this DVD--not entertainment. I find learning verbs to be tedious, but by looking at the screen while listening to the speaker, I'm making progress.

A HUGE VALUE of this series… Read more
Sing & Learn Spanish - Cuba Remix <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Sing-Learn-Spanish-Cuba-Remix/dp/artist-redirect/B0010X9D22">Stephane Husar</a><span class="byLinePipe"> | </span><span class="byLinePipe">Format:</span> MP3 Music
Because I know no Spanish and am struggling in my elementary college course, I downloaded two albums. Without these tunes pounding in my head, I don't think I would have done as well on my first test.

To my surprise, the Stephane Husar album is NOT strictly kids' music, but the songs are quite pleasant musically. I recommend this album for anyone, and there is no comparison to--much better than--Spanish and English Sing and Learn (Ms Blanca).

The content is what's needed for a few key basics--such as numbers, days of the week, and some basic phrases and questions. With the music, the content stays in one's memory better.
